BSides Exeter has invited Jonny Tyers to run a workshop at their 2026 conference on 25 April. The session is part of a day of workshops on cyber risk quantification for business and cyber leaders — and Jonny's slot focuses on something many organisations struggle with: finding the risks in your own business before someone else does.
About the workshop
The workshop is called Find the Cyber Risks in your Business (Before Someone Else Does). It runs from 12:30 to 14:00 and is aimed at business leaders and senior IT professionals who want a practical handle on where cyber threats could hurt their organisation — without needing a technical background to get there.
The session uses the RROC framework: Revenue, Reputation, Operations, and Compliance. These four areas cover most of the ways a cyber incident actually damages a business, and working through them gives attendees a clearer picture of their risk exposure than a generic vulnerability list ever would.
All you need to bring is a working knowledge of your business and how it relies on technology or third-party suppliers.
What you will cover
By the end of the session, attendees will have a view of their key risk areas, practical questions to put to their IT team or provider, and concrete next steps for anything that needs attention.
The workshop is part of a broader track at BSides Exeter looking at cyber risk quantification — three sessions delivered by three organisations with different but complementary approaches to the same problem. Attendees are encouraged to join all three for a fuller picture.
Tickets are available at a minimum £20 donation, with all proceeds going to the Children's Hospice South West.
